Consultation Process

Please bring your Medicare card, private health care card, GP referral and any x-rays to your appointment. Dr McGonagle will ask about your medical history, perform an examination, review test results and come up with a treatment plan that is best for you. Treatment plans may include physiotherapy, injections or surgery.

Fee Structure

  • New patient consult: $200.00 (Medicare Rebate: $76.15)

  • Patient review: $100.00 (Medicare Rebate: $38.25)

  • Post-op appointment for joint replacement: free (within 6 months of surgery)

  • Post-op appointment for any other surgery: free (within 3 months of surgery)

    Payment Methods

    Payment is accepted via EFTPOS, cash & cheque. This is a private practice, there is no bulk billing.

    DVA cases are welcome.

  • workers compensation
    Workers Compensation

    Workers Compensation cases are welcome. The patient must provide a claim number or written acceptance of claim so the insurance company can be billed directly.

    If a claim has not been submitted or the claim is pending, the patient must make payment upfront on the day of consultation and claim back through the insurance company at a later date once the claim is approved.

    Audit/Research

    If you undergo surgery you will be invited to complete a questionnaire before and after surgery to help assess your progress. This information will be collected confidentially. This is not compulsory and will not alter your care. You are free to withdraw at any stage.

For Doctors

Consultation Process

Clinics run weekly with regular lists at SJOG.

Referrals can be sent via phone, email, HealthLink, Australia Post or the Healthengine website.

Dr McGonagle is available on his mobile phone at any time to discuss cases.
